brief story about myself. I became interested in house music in the late 80's listening to records like the Jungle Brothers I'll house you, Guy Called Gerrald Voodoo Ray ect. Growing up in Newburgh NY was only an hour away from NYC so I was lucky enough to pick up 98.7 Kiss. I got to listen and record on tape old The now legendary Tony Humphries shows. I knew then that the music I began listening to was something that moved me, it inspired me. From then I met a few cats that also felt the ame way about the music that till this day I consider true friends, Jorge aka Kohev, Larry aka Booby, Will aka Woodchuck. In that time I began to dj using any turntable I could find, buying my very first belt driven turntable at the age of 19 at Sears. From there I began going to Jorges house, or vise a versa who also had a belt driven turntable and a mixer (that was BIG back then). We began going to NY to buy records @ Vinylmania, Downtown Records, Discorama. Buying classic albums like Lil Loius, Kerri Chandler, anything that was dropping on Strikly Rhythm, Nervous Records. From then we began going out to the now legendary Shelter 6 Hubert St. Man what a time to experience house music. moving forward. We then found The Underground Network Party feat. The no legendary dj. Louie Vega, now words cannot explain the innovative stuff that Louie was doing in those days. Till this day I can say that my teachers and mentors are Tony Humpries, Louie Vega, Kerri Chandler, they don't know that but I studied them for years. When I began my djing adventures it began in first in upstate NY where it was hard to find a crowd that enjoyed what I did. But here is where I think I was doing my thing. It was i a gay club called Prime Time. I began spinning for free on Thursdays just to experience spinning on a rotary mixer and techniques. At first it was dead, only a few regulars like 5 people and my friends, tops 10 people all night. But I think the word began spreading because dancers where coming out to check me out. More and more people would come out, I remember one day that I was running late to the normal time I would get there, and the club was packed with a mixed crowd. I was so nervous, but I did my thin because the manager wanted me to work Fridays that was also a dead night. The thursday crowd followed me to to Friday's and did my thing for a couple months till the manager and I had a misunderstanding so I moved on. Now comes some of what I call my 2nd chapter which is when I met DJ's Lola & E-man. E-man was another dj that I began to study. Learning to expand my sound by spinning more eclectic joints. From that I became a stand in dj for E-man @ the Legendary Brooklyn's Bang The Party. I also began an internship at MAW Records, then later starter working for King Street Sounds. During this time I met some now life long friends. Today I reside in Atlanta GA. Soon I hope to write a new blog of where my journey has taken me to. Some key info that has changed me as a man, in 1997 I had a Son Liam that changed my life and in 2003 I had my daughter Alana.
